Word of advise!! - JDM Chicago-Japanese Car Community

Heres my rant!!!
Duralast parts are complete and utter junk !!! If you ever buy parts or anything else for that matter from Autozone do yourself a favor and pay the extra couple bucks for a better brand !!
Over the last few years since they switched to this crap..Ive gotten quite a few parts for my daily and made the mistake of purchasing a ratchet and set of sockets "hey these look just like the snap on stuff!!" NO! , (within a week the ratchet and three of the sockets were broken) Luckily I got my money back on the tools..
Everything I have gotten over the last couple years brandishing the duracrap name has been complete and absolute JUNK!!
On my civic, Ive replaced 3 clutches in 2 1/2 years, 4 sets of axles in 3 , and 3 powersteering pumps in less than 2 yrs.
the clutch and axles I bought years ago with lifetime warranty. The old brand of parts held up pretty well considering how hard I abused them. Not long after they made the switch. It came time for a new clutch and axles. The first one didnt even last 6mo. before the pressure plate fell apart

I figured maybe it was defective . Not long after the axles went.. then I bought a power steering pump. It lasted 2 mo.

The cycle just continued from there Until I ended up saying fuck the warranty on all these parts and bought elsewhere..
When I questioned the manager at the store about my problems. He said basically Im shit out of luck aside from continuing to warranty this crap.
At this point Im so pissed Im taking my grievances to corprate in an attempt to get some sort of compensation for all the headaches and labor..

That sucks. That's why I only buy OEM or from Napa. Costs extra, but I know it's going to last a long ass time. And buy Craftsman! Lifetime warranty!

i hate to be a dick, but its advice not advise. if you were to use advise, it would i would advise you..

but i would for sure advise you to purchase your parts from a better brand for sure. did you really think duralast would last?

I didnt know there would be a spelling test... On that note you should read before you comment

all the parts (except PS pump) were bought before they switched to this crap...The warranty carried over .,.

OEM or go home.

When I don't want to spring for OEM I hit up rockauto.com and avoid duralast like the plague. I'd never get a non-oem wear and tear part.

Never! I actually have a Duralast battery in the Z and its held up pretty good for the last 2-3 years.
